Eid Day
Eid
is the biggest festival of Muslims. After a month’s fasting in the month of
Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitre is celebrated. Muslim community all over the world
observes the day colourfully. The Muslims get up very early in the morning.
They have their bath. They put on new clothes. Wearing new clothes is the main
attraction of the Eid. Then we go to the Eidgah to perform our Eid prayer.
Performing Eid prayer we say Eid Murabak and embrace each other. Delicious
items of food are cooked. We also visit our relatives’ houses and eat sweets
and other delicious food. Our parents and elders give us money as a token of
love. Actually Eid increases love, sympathy and brotherhood among the people of
Muslim community. It is a joyfull day for the Muslims.

Dear
Opu,
We
have been out of touch for quite some time. I hope you are getting on well. You
know, Eid is only two weeks away. Why don’t you spend the holidays with us in
our village? We have a pond. We can swim together. We can also fly kites
together. We can take long walks along the bank of the river. There are many
things to see in Rajshahi. The University campus is large and beautiful. The
building will take your breath away. Then there is the Veranda Research Museum.
It is full of interesting things.
I hope very much that you will accept my invitation. I
look forward to hearing from you soon. With best wishes.
Apurbo
